There is a $56 application fee and a $60 technology fee, but all other fees are included in the total cost of tuition.

This online program’s coursework is comprised of six to nine courses totaling 12 to 18 credit hours. The number of required courses depends on whether you have completed or are currently completing a 54- or 60-credit school counseling master’s program.
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for admission:
- Successful completion of a school counseling master’s degree or current enrollment in a master’s-level school counseling program at UW-Superior or another university**
- Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work. We are unable to accept transcripts from students. If you have taken courses at UW-Superior, transcripts from UW-Superior are not required.
- Resume and Letter of Intent addressing:
- Service to community
- Volunteer work
- Commitment to others
- Work and professional goals
- Areas which the applicant considers to be his or her strengths or weaknesses
- Three letters of recommendation
- No GRE or teaching license required
- Complete criminal background check

**Students who are not currently enrolled nor recent graduates from the UWS School Counseling program will need to apply for DSPS licensure validation ($60 fee) to determine exact coursework requirements. Students can work with their academic advisor to begin this process.
